With a lifelong passion for art, I began as a wildlife sketch artist and evolved into a mixed media painter blending abstraction and realism. After earning a BFA in Design, I worked in the printing and signage industries, where I combined 2D and 3D design and developed a love for creating tangible, interactive works. A later transition into the corporate world supported my family but left me creatively unfulfilled—until a gifted pottery wheel introduced me to clay. Now fully immersed in ceramics, I explore both wheel throwing and hand-building, drawing on my design background and engineering sensibility. My work reflects a fusion of cultural influences, including Native American petroglyphs and Japanese aesthetics, as I continue to refine my unique artistic voice.
My work explores the intersection of form and function through sculptural ceramics that invite both visual engagement and practical use. Each piece challenges traditional boundaries by transforming utilitarian objects into expressive artworks. I intentionally retain the marks, textures, and subtle distortions that emerge during the creation process—fingerprints, tool impressions, and irregularities—preserving the intimacy and authenticity of the human touch. This approach underscores the individuality of each piece, offering a raw, honest alternative to polished perfection.
